Seafarers were stranded home in Thane after three years

Mumbai: Two Indian sailors, who were stranded without their passport on a cargo ship in the city of Port Bushehr for three years, finally returned home on Saturday.
The sailors, Arham Shaikh and Ashish Sakpal, have left Mumbai on a tourist visa for Iran to join the cargo ship placed in Anchorage in Abbas Port Port in September 2019.
Their journey was facilitated by immoral recruitment agencies in Mumbai.
Their passports were confiscated by ship owners and agents.
Cargo ships, ‘sea princess’, thus became a prison floating for seafarers, because they could not leave Iran without their passport.
