Madurai: Anyone with minimum qualifications completing class XII can now register online to be part of the scheme of ‘iLlam Thedi Kalvi’ (education at your door), which will be applied in the district based on pilots.
The 200 Crore Hospital scheme by the Tamil Nadu School Education Department aims to help bridge the learning gap for class I to VIII.
Awareness campaign for the pilot project was launched recently in Madurai and seven other districts.
Efforts are at the district level to plan its implementation and volunteer ropes.
“Under the scheme, after school hours at night, the second class will be carried out by volunteers to involve students between class I to VIII.
This will be held in a batch in such a way that one volunteer handles no more than 20 students.

“Volunteers will only be chosen for the program after they are studied and reviewed.

The district level events and consciousness meetings with all Ministry of Education officials, teacher coordinators, welfare and education activists will be held on Monday.
