Hyderabad: The President of the Secunderabad club, R Raghuram Reddy, said that the voltage fluctuations due to heavy rains that destroyed the city on Sunday night might have caused a short circuit to fire.
A few hours after the accident, the club was covered by the police.
The club, who accommodated hundreds of people for Sunday lunch, turned into a fort after an accident.
“Heavy rain on WEE days on Sundays because the club faces voltage fluctuations between 02:00 and 3 in the morning,” Reddy said.
“Suddenly, the fire broke in the main club house after the call was made to the fire control room.” While the discussion increased on the safety aspects of the club’s fire, Reddy said the fire audit was taken by half the year.
“This is the first time the club has a fire accident.
Because of excessive wood work, fire spread very quickly.
Bar area, where alcohol is stored, added to the fire.
After this, we now have to use fire resistant construction materials,” Reddy said .
While the club has been closed for members, the Managing Committee intends to start sports activities and other services in areas that are not affected in the accident.
Meanwhile, the Heritage DECCAN academy expressed his concern for a fire accident.
“I asked the club manager committee to restore it to normal glory.
I also asked the state government to take steps to preserve heritage buildings,” said Vedianmar Manikonda, Dha Chairman.
