Nagpur: The Minister of Transportation Union and MPs from Nagpur, Nitin Gadkari, and District Guardian Minister Nitin Raut will hold a joint meeting at Mihan-sez on September 9.
In a step initiated by the Development Commissioner Mihan-sez Sraman Vasireddy, both ministers will hold discussions with unit holders in Mihan-sez.
Ministers will be given feedback on future plans, employment projections and problems faced by the industry here, said Vasireddy.
Problems such as wall and customs boundaries will also be discussed, he said.
Even before being chosen as a MP, Gadkari has promoted Mihan, which he thinks is one of the biggest job creation projects for the region.
Raut also, as Minister Guardian, has taken interest in the project.
In other developments, a meeting was held at the Vidarbha Industrial Association (VIA) to discuss the issue of delaying payment fees imposed on several industries that had been allocated landed in Sez.
The commissioner of development was also present at the meeting.
“There are around 12 units that have been given land and have made initial payments.
However, now as a unit planning to start operations, the Maharashtra Airport development company (MADC) has demanded additional fees due to delays in cleaning contributions,” said Suresh Rathi of the Via.
It is mainly a small unit that has land ranging from one to three hectares.
The delay was mainly due to Covid regarding cash flow, said source.
This is the second meeting about this problem.
The proposal will be included before MADC that these companies must be allocated land by allowing relaxation in additional costs paid due to delays, he said.
A similar meeting is planned with MADC officials where the formal proposal will be included, said Rathi.
