Sectarian clashes in Beirut amid tensions for investigations to explosion ports; 6 Killed

Beirut: Six Shiites were shot dead in Beirut on Thursday, in an attack on supporters of Hezbollah and a Lebanese partner who gathered to demand the elimination of judges who investigated the ports explosion which destroyed last year.
The shooting, which took place at the front line of the 1975-90 Lebanon civil war and raised a scene that reminded the conflict, marked the deadliest civil violence in Beirut since 2008.
This also highlighted the deep crisis of the investigation into a August 2020 explosion underestimating the government’s efforts to Overcoming the economic crisis.
Hezbollah, who was supported by Iran and his allies, the Shia charity movement, accused the Lebanese (LF) troops, a Christian party who had a close relationship with Saudi Arabia, to carry out attacks.
The Minister of Home Affairs Bassam Mawlawi said the sniper had fired and directed the head of the person.
If LF denies involvement and condemning violence, blamed on Hezbollah “incitement” against Judge Tarek Bitar, the main investigator into the port explosion, which killed 200 people.
After repeated warnings of Hezbollah who continue the Bitar investigation will divide the country, violence can create a pretext to close or save further investigation into the explosion.
President Michel Aoun vowed that those responsible for Thursday’s shot would be responsible.
During the attack, the local television station broadcast bullet footage bouncing the building and people ran for protection.
One of the dead was a woman who was shocked by bullets while at her house, said a military source.
At the nearest school, the teachers instructed the children of babies to lie on the ground with their hands on their heads, said a witness Reuters.
The lifeless body was dragged from the streets by observers in recording.
The army said in the statement of The Fatfire targeted protesters when they passed the Teyouneh traffic circle located in the area splitting the Christian and Shiite Muslim environment.
The shooting starts from the Christian environment in Ain El-Remmaneh, from where the civil war departs.
