New Delhi: A 41-year-old security guard was arrested on early Saturday to kill someone who was allegedly used to harass his daughter in the Southwest Delhi Mahipalpur area, police said.
The defendant has been identified as Surmesh, a resident of Mahipalpur and the native of Bareilly at Uttar Pradesh.
He worked as a security guard with NS security for the past four years, they said.
Surmesh was arrested by the police when he took the body in a pedicab to throw it away, a senior officer said.
On Saturday, Constable Head Vinod Kumar saw Surmesh carrying a pedicab body and arrested him, police said.
The police said the deceased had a tattoo on his left arm and the IGI airport parking slip was found in his pocket.
He was later identified as Santosh Kumar Jha (25), a resident of Mahipalpur and the native of Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
He was a driver at the courier company, said the officer.
Interrogation revealed that Jha harassed Surmesh’s daughter for the past three years.
He used to follow him every time he left, police said.
“On Thursday, Jha came to the house was accused of being drunk and began to argue with him.
During the fight, they both went to the ground floor and entered in empty space,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest).

During the heated argument, Surmesh crashed into Jha and strangled with a towel, DCP said.
He looked after the body in the room in the basement of the building where he worked as a security guard.
On Saturday, he tried to throw the body and was caught.
