Security I-Day: There is no Drone, Sky Lanterns near the airport cabbage

Kolkata: In the celebration of the run-up independence day, CISF officials who are responsible for airport security along with Bidhannagar city police officers move around the Kolkata airport environment, seek participation from locals to remind the police if they find suspicious activities.
They also asked people not to explode, fly drones, and sky lanterns around the airport called for legal provisions.
A team of officials moved around the area such as Kaikhali, Dum Dum, Rajarhat and Narayanpur with hard hailers and many police vans to get residents about this problem.
“We visited several densely populated areas such as Bankra, Birati, Loaded Colony, Kaikhali, Bablatala near Jama Mosque, Narcellabagan, Narayanpur and Saurav Ganguly Avenue in Narayanpur.
Intensive residents are sensitive about the importance of airport security and their role,” said a CISF official.
CISF, airport police officers and airport traffic police were accompanied by members of the Bankra Masjid committee during a visit.
The official said they had asked residents to notify the local CISF or police if they found suspicious activities in their area, including flying drones.
“We also asked for occupants not to feed birds from their respective terraces because they increased the possibility of ‘birds hitting’ instance to the plane and also not to explode,” said an officer Bidhannagar Commissioner.
The police also visited the house, where tenants live, to verify unknown people.
The airport and surrounding areas are under the scope of additional safety steps starting on Sundays to August 20 because of the high warning warnings issued for independence day security problems.
“Security measures have been tightened since the drone attack at the IAF station in Jammu five weeks ago.
However, further additional safety steps have been taken in the next two weeks,” the official said.
