Mumbai: complicated security arrangements have been made in Mumbai considering the 73rd Republican Day celebration on Wednesday, police said on Tuesday.
On the occasion of the Republican Day, the flag lifting ceremony was held at Taman Shivaji in Central Mumbai in front of Governor Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari, chairman of the minister of Uddhav Thackeray, minister and other officers.
In addition to local police, additional personnel have been deployed in the venue and throughout the city to defend the law and order and avoid unwanted incidents, police said.
Personnel from the SRPF (Country Reserve Police), QRT (fast response team), BDDS (bomb detection and disposal forces) and dog troops are also deployed at Shivaji Park, they added.
