Security? Swift and Duster failed to score on the accident test

New Delhi: Suzuki Swift and Renault Duster printed disappointing zero stars in the new car assessment program for Latin America and the Caribbean (Latin NCAP) was released on Friday.
Swift made in India and Japan, with two airbags as a standard reaching Zero Star.
Popular compact cars reached 15.53% in the adult occupants box, 0% in children’s residents box, 66.07% in pedestrian protection and road users of roads and 6.98% in a secure assist box.
The results apply to the hatchback and sedan versions.
Zero star results are explained by poor side impact protection and open doors during the test, low whiplash score due to the lack of UN32 proof for the rear impact test, the lack of standard side head protection airbag, lack of standard ESC and Suzuki’s decision to recommend CRS for tests.
This model will not pass the UN95 requirements regulations due to the opening of the door.
Swift is sold in Europe with 6 airbags and electronic stability controls (ESC) as standard, while models in Latin America are not offered with side bodies and airbags and ESCs as standard.
The Latin American version of Swift still offered a standard lap belt in the position of the center seat behind despite the risk of high-known high injury from its use.
Duster, produced in Latin America and Romania, with double airbags and electronic stability controls (ESC) as standard, reaching zero stars under the latest Latin protocol NCAP.
Popular SUVs reached 29.47% in the adult occupants box, 22.93% in children’s residents box, 50.79% in pedestrian protection and road users of roads and 34.88% in the safety assistance box.
New duster for Latin America does not offer body airbags and side head protection as a standard such as a model sold in Europe under Dacia.
In the frontal impact, the model shows the performance of an unstable structure and fuel leakage.
The side impact test shows high intrusion from Pillar B and the door open during the test.
The opening of the door in the Latin NCAP side impact test, which has the same configuration as the UN95 regulation, means that the car will fail the UN95 test.
