Security to be improved in Patna HC, another court

Patna: Security in Patna High Court and Public Court throughout the country will be tightened after a shootout in the courtroom in Rohini Delhi where a gangster and two stitch shooters were killed.
At the district level monitoring committee meeting on Saturday, District Judge Patna Sunil Dutta Mishra asked DM Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Upendra Kumar Sharma to strengthen security in the Civil Court here.
Patna Public Prosecutor Vijay Sinha, who was also present at the meeting, said, “District administration has assured us to review security measures in the civil court and others where handheld metal detectors and door frames will be installed.” The source said in the districts where the monitoring meeting was held, the judge raised security issues in court.
Chairman of the Country Bar Bihar Ramakant Sharma said they would soon write to the Supreme Court, the center and state government to ensure the security of lawyers.
Senior Lawyer Yogesh Chandra Versma said he would discuss the security measures in the Patna High Court with the chairman of Judge Sanjay Karol as soon as he returned to the city.
“The court will begin the physical function from Monday.
Given the terrible Rohini Shoot Rawy, security in the Patna High Court and all trials throughout the country must be improved,” he said.
