New Delhi: Head of the National Police Congress (NCP) Sharad Pawar said on Tuesday that his party was in talks with the Trinamool Congress and Congress for alliances in Goa.
Polls will be held for 40 seat assembly in Goa on February 14.
The election of this year’s assembly in Goa is likely to be multi-corner with the Trinamool Congress and the Aadmi Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriawal threw their hats on the ring.
Congress, which has emerged as the largest single party in the election of the 2017 assembly with 17 seats, has been driven to a margin when the party has lost 15 MLA to other parties.
It would be interesting to see what the Congress decided on the coalition proposed after the Trinamool Congress boiled several leaders in the state.
The congress on Monday firmly denied talks about the alliance with the Trinamool Congress.
The leader of the Senior Congress of KC Venugopal has tweeted: “Rumors circulating that the possible alliance with TMC discussed by Shri @rahulgandhi in today’s meeting is truly unfounded & incorrect.
Let me ensure that the Congress Party is sure – we will return to the way to advance Immediately.
“Trinamool in his share also softened his stands to join Congress in the state.
