Srinagar: J & K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said the date for assembly polls in UT will be repaired according to the prerogative rights of the Indian election commission.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the function here, LG Sinha said the center was committed to holding elections at J & K as soon as the restriction commission (DC) completed his training.
“In August 15 speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the restriction commission worked based on a quick lane.
Apart from the minister of UNION Amit Shah’s house has stated in the parliament that the state will be given to J & K at the right time,” LG said.
Sinha said that as soon as DC will complete the training, the assembly selection will be held at J & K.
“As far as the election date, it is a prerogative of the Indian Election Commission,” he said.
LG said that the number of assembly seats would rise from 87 to 94.
Sinha said that he and the Jammu people and Kashmir were convinced that the state would be restored at the right time and elections would also be held at the right time.
Replying to the question, Sinha said that throwing stones is now a thing from the past, recruitment for far less terrorism and almost zero infiltration.
He said that coordination between police J & K and security forces was better.
