Done/ALVI With pic Kanpur: A self-proclaimed’tantrik’, that had been intending to tie the knot to the sixth period, was detained by authorities on Friday.
The arrest was made after a complaint lodged with his fourth wife in Kidwai Nagar police station of town.
According to deputy commissioner of police (South) Raveena Tyagi, the guy was recognized as Anuj Chetan Katheria, also a native of Shahjahanpur.
A case was filed against the guy under sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC.
According to the complaint, Anuj, a self-proclaimed’tantrik’, had married a girl from Mainpuri district in 2005.
Afterwards, he also married a girl hailing from Bareilly at 2010, also at 2014 he tied the knot with a girl belonging to Auraiya.
Subsequently he married the cousin of the next wife, who later committed suicide after arriving along his wrong actions.
In 2016, he had been reserved for raping the wife of the younger brother in their native area at Shahjanpur.
In 2019, Anuj married a Kanpur girl, who had been his fifth victim.
She alleged in her complaint that she’d wed Anuj at 2019.
Following marriage, he began pushing her over a pretext or other.
Afterwards, he had supernatural sexual intercourse with her apart indulging in several other supernatural acts.
After she resisted the supernatural sex, he attacked her and tried to kill her, and the girl further alleged.
Afterwards, she registered a case under applicable parts of the IPC, for example department 377 (supernatural offences), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 307 (attempt to murder) from Anuj.
The DCP (South) told TOI that throughout the course of this analysis, critical inputs were accumulated.
The accused, who’s a resident of Shahjahanpur, maintained shifting his places to prevent arrest.

On interrogation, Anuj revealed he was able to target girls on matrimonial sites/dating websites and later befriending them then trapping them.
