Lucknow: Paying attention to suicide offers by the Senior Bureaucrat Private Secretary in Bapu Bhawan here, Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directing senior officers to review security in all government buildings.
Bapu Bhawan is a high security building connected to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
Vishwambhar Dayal shot himself on Monday using a licensed revolver in his room on the eight-floor of the building.
He is the presidential secretary of the Head of Secretary, Development of Urban, Rajnish Dubey.
According to senior officials, the ministerial head during the meeting was directed that “the security of the secretariat and other sensitive government offices must be strengthened”.
“Additional major secretaries for home, ADG for law and order and the government secretariat must review security settings in depth and present their reports,” Adityanath said.
“There is nothing to be allowed to enter with weapons,” said the ministerial head.
He also directed officials to ensure office cleanliness and strictly enforce the ban on the use of pan-masala, gutkha and tobacco.
Vishwambhar Dayal is still in critical condition and undergoing treatment.
Bapu Bhawan has several ministerial and bureaucrat offices.
It is connected to the state assembly building and only a stone’s throw from the State Secretariat.
