Vadodara: When a countdown for elections in the registered graduate category, the polls have begun at the University of M S, a group of senators on Tuesday demanding that the university have a fair selection process.
The election for 14 seats in the registered graduate constituency will be the first in a series of elections to be held for the formation of a new Senate body.
The BJP local unit took a sharp interest in this constituency from where vocal cords from the chosen university government.
Kapil Joshi and Nikul Patel Senate members together with Advocates Kishore Pillai on Tuesday filed a memorandum to the K M Chudasama University Register accused that voter registration was allowed beyond the time limit.
“Even at 4pm August 18 is the deadline for offline voter registration, advanced registration outside the time specified in university notification,” Joshi said.
The trio has demanded that the challans from the registration must be canceled.
“We also demand that the Supervisory Committee must have a representation of candidates who are fighting for polls so that there is no incorrect registration rejected,” Joshi said.
The trio also demands that unauthorized people should not have access to contact details from registered graduates to ensure that voters are not threatened by anyone.
Before the trio made a representation, they sat in Dharna at the University’s head office when several media accompanying them were not permitted into the registrar cabin.
Chudasama then received a memorandum outside the cabin.
