Thiruvananthapuram: Speaker M B Rajesh ruled irregularities in submitting an implementation report on the Information Law, 2005, before the legislature every year, on time.
The speaker order came after MLA T Siddhique raised this problem as a point of order.
The speaker decided that a four-year report from 2017-18-18-21 must be submitted before the earliest assembly, by collecting and preparing information from all public authorities.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan ensures that the report for 2017-18 has been received by the government and has been submitted to the legislative secretariat, while steps will be taken to prepare and submit reports for the remaining years.
According to Section 25 of the Information Law on Information Rights, 2005, the Central Information Commission or State Information Commission (according to the case), as soon as possible after the end of each year, prepare a report on the application of the provisions of the action during the year and continue copies to the appropriate government And the government must report the report before the state parliament and legislature.
