New Delhi: Senior IPS Sheel Vardhan Singh officer on Monday took over as the Director General of Central Industrial Security Power (CISF).
He is a special director, the intelligence agency, before becoming the 29th CISF.
Singh had joined the IPS in 1986 at the age of 23 and was allocated Bihar Cadre.
Within 35 years since, he has held many sensitive positions in Bihar and during central deputation to the Indian government.
In Central Deputation, Singh has served at the external ministry at the Indian High Commission, Dhaka, Bangladesh as the first secretary.
Then, on representatives for the intelligence agency, he served as an additional and special director.
He had been awarded the President’s police medal for service contributed in 2004 and a presidential police medal for leading service in 2010.
