Mumbai: Equity Benchmark Sensex rose more than 400 points for fresh peaks of 59,550.88 in early trading on Friday, tracking profits in the Bajaj Finance Department index, HDFC Twins and ICICI Bank amidst the flow of foreign funds.
The wider NIFTY NSE also jumped more than 100 points to reach its peak of 17,747.80 in the opening session.
30-stock sensex traded 418.53 points or 0.71 percent higher at 59,559.69.
Similarly, sophisticated nifty 113.15 points or 0.64 percent to 17,742.65 in the initial transaction.
ITC is the top enhancer in the sensex package, up almost 3 percent, followed by Bajaj Finance, Titan, Bajaj Finserv and Bharti Airtel.
On the other hand, Tata Steel, NTPC, Indusind Bank and PowerGrid are among sluggish.
In the previous session, the 30-share index rose 417.96 points or 0.71 percent with a new closing peak of 59,141.16, and Nifty jumped 110.05 points or 0.63 percent to solve it at the highest lifetime of 17,629.50.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIS) are clean buyers in the capital market because they buy shares worth 1,621.88 crore on Thursday, according to temporary exchange data.
