Mumbai: Equity Benchmark Sensex jumped 145 points to end at a new height on Monday tracing profits in the Reliance Industries Department index, Bajaj Finance and Tata Steel.
Although opening on choppy records, the 30-stock index ended 145.29 points or 0.26 percent higher at the new peak of 55,582.58.
It touched an intra-day high record 55,680.75.
Similarly, the nifty NIFTY rose 33.95 points or 0.21 percent to a high fresh 16.563.05.

Tata Steel is the top enhancer in the sensex package, rally almost 4 percent, followed by Bajaj Finance, M & M, Bajaj Finserv and Reliance Industries.
On the other hand, Maruti, Bajaj Auto, Powergrid Ad Ultratech Cement is among Lambgard.
