Sensory garden for children with disabilities

Thiruvananthapuram: The Social Justice Department has established a sensory park at 22 cents at the museum, especially for disabled children.
The garden has various varieties of flowering plants, waterfalls, and dining-friendly paths.
This park is designed in such a way that it will help children’s free movement and increase their senses.
This garden covers a large number of flowers with odor, which can be used to develop sense sensions.
A small waterfall was created to develop hearing senses.
New from this, different textured paths are also built.
The path that is built with rough granite will put pressure on the legs that will help in the blood circulation.
The path is also made with fine granite and gravel.
The entrance to the garden is built with propagating plants and vines, which will give them feelings of walking through the forest.
Small bamboo forests are planted for children to play hide and seek.
There is also a cave in the park with a slide attached to it.
The park has been designed to consider all safety precautions because the target audience is a disabled children.
The park was built with a budget around Rs 20 Lakh.
Park’s design work is done by Costford.
“We have tried their best to include natural elements to the park.
It is specifically designed for disabled children.
It takes seven months to complete the work,” said P B, Director with Costford.
The Minister of Justice, R Bindhu will inaugurate the garden at 4 pm on Tuesday.
Museum Minister Ahamed Devarkovil and MLA V K Prasanth will also attend their functions.
