New Delhi: Citing a Judicial Precedent in the cases of Godhra Riot Gujarat, the Delhi Court separated the trial of three Hindus and two Muslims after facing allegations against them in the case related to the alleged murder of a 24-year-old man in the northeast of Delhi riots.

“Given the court precedents mentioned above, this court also considers it appropriate to separate the trial of people accused so that their defense may not even be prejudiced,” said the judge.
He directed court staff to post a separate session case number in FIR now and said the existing Chargesheet had to be treated as a chargesheet for three accused, Kuldeep, Deepak Thakur and Deepak Yadav, while other Chargesheets would be treated as Chargesheet for Mohd Furkan and Mohd Irshad.
The court further directs DCP (Crime Branch) to provide a complete set of chargesheets in physical form within two weeks from Tuesday.
