Not only the resignation of CM Vijay Rupani – the only fourth CM Gujarat to complete five years in the office – because the rainy season gave the road to the fall, September and October had seen many political upheaval in the state.
The turn of the hand began with the first cm of Gujarat – Dr.
Jivraj Mehta resigned in September 1963 after three years, 141 days, paving the way for Balwantrai Mehta.
Demise Mehta prematurely during the 1965 war also came in September, when Hitendra Desai took over.
In 1996, before Suresh Mehta could finish one year in the office, split in BJP forced his resignation in September.
For 27 days, the President’s government was applyed before Shakersinh Vaghela was appointed as 9th cm Gujarat.
His tenure ended after only one year and four days, in October next year because the Parikh dilip entered the chair in 1997.
