Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium: Red Bull suffered another blow with the challenge of the Formula One constructor championship when Mexico Sergio Perez fell from the Belgian Grand Prix before the beginning on Sunday.
Perez lost control on the way to the initial network on a soaked and slippery track and slipped into obstacles at Les Combes.
He rises after failing to leave again.
“The damage to the right front suspension is too extreme for us to continue,” Red Bull Sports Director Jonathan Wheatley to Michael’s racing director Masi.
The race starts at the spa-francorchamps delayed because of the weather.
Perez, whose contract extension for 2022 was announced on Friday, has fulfilled the seventh requirement with the Max Verstappen team at the pole position.
Red Bull is 12 points behind leaders and rules Mercedes champions in the standings.
“It is clearly very disappointing not to take starters – only shows how difficult the conditions are out there,” the Red Bull team boss Christian Horner told Sky Sports Television.
“He reported that he couldn’t really see anything and unfortunately the car had just moved away from him.
It was very embarrassing for Checo and the team not to start the race.”
