NEW DELHI: The Serum Institute of India (SII) has applied to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) Looking for Consent to Fabricate Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V from the Nation, sources said on Thursday.
The Pune-based company has also sought consent for evaluation analysis and analysis.
Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine is now being manufactured in India from Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.
“The Serum Institute of India (SII) set an application to the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on Wednesday needing permission to fabricate the Covid-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, at India,” a source said.
The SII has told the authorities it will have the ability to fabricate and provide 10 crore Covishield dosages at June, although it’s also producing the Novavax vaccine, the regulatory clearance that will be expected from the USA.
The vaccine has been given emergency usage authorisation (EUA) from the DCGI at April.
