New Delhi: The Ministry of Health Union has activated services on the Cowin portal that allows anyone to check individual vaccination status with a person’s cellphone number and registered name, followed by OTP for approval.
This service can be used by service providers – private entities such as travel agents, offices, employers, entertainment agencies or government institutions such as IRCTC – for whom verifying a person’s vaccination status is very important to facilitate the services requested by citizens, officials said.
“Now download a fully vaccinated badge from Cowin (Cowin.gov.in) & share with your friends on all your social platforms! Encourage your family and friends to follow you and #FightCovid,” said the CEO of the National Health Authority RS Sharma.

This service is being built to help citizens who may not have a vaccine certificate available in digital or paper to utilize the services requested and can support the service provider to verify the status of vaccination / digital notes of citizen vaccination according to official permission.

This service helps in verifying individual service vaccination statuses can be utilized by travel agents and help make a safe trip for individuals by allowing travel only for vaccinated individuals.
Employers can use this service to verify employee vaccination status and continue functions in the office, workplace, etc.
This service will help continue and catalyze economic activities in the country, officials said.
