Jammu: Seven people died and many were feared missing in Honzar Village Kiswar J & K as Cloudburst swept home, depot rations, bridges and other properties Wednesday morning.
Remote village is a three-hour road from the nearest road, but the rescue team of army, police and state disaster (SDRF) in action and reaching a point of time to save many lives.
Officials said Cloudburst hit Honzar Village in Dacchan Tehsil was around 4.30 in the morning.
Seventeen injured in the incident was saved while more than 20 people were still missing, the Commissioner of the Development of Kishtwar District Ashok Kumar Sharma said.
Referring to a similar incident in another part of the district, Sharma said two cloudburst hit the Lambard area long distances the previous night, but there were no living losses reported.
He said 60 families were evacuated from the Paddar area after continuous rain, which pose a threat to their homes.
Flash floods were reported in Paddar, Paddar and Bunjwah in Kiswar Regency.
The Commander of the VK Singh General from SDRF said, “One of our SDRF teams from Kishtwar has reached an affected village and two more teams are on their way from Doda and Udhampur District.

“He added that the NDRF team from Ludhiana in Punjab was also on his way to Kishtwar.
JAMMU-based defense spokesman LT Col Devender Anand, “Two columns of soldiers have been mobilized to help civil administration in rescue operations.
While the first army column was mobilized early this morning and joined the rescue operation, the second column would reach.” The Union Minister and local parliamentarian Jitendra Singh said he had spoken with district judges and air force authorities and asked them to distract injured and when needed.
