KOKRAJHAR: Native persons have been detained thus far in connection with the alleged murder and rape of two women in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, authorities said on Tuesday.
The women, aged 14 and 16, belonged on the Rabha community and also have been discovered hanging from a tree on Saturday.
Seven individuals have been arrested thus far in relation to the incident, authorities said.
Those detained have been interrogated and additional analyses are still underway, they stated.
A Special Investigative Team featured by Particular DGP LR Bishnoi is probing the situation.
