Mangaluru: City police have arrested seven people in connection with the chain of grabbing, robbery, theft of two-wheeled vehicles, and blocking the police to carry out their duties.
Abdul Ihaam, 26, Safwan, 29, Mohammed Thousif, 30, Abdul Khader Sinan, 30, Mohammed Fazal, 32, Arshad, 34, and Mujahidur Rehaman, 23, were arrested in Mangaluru.
The police confiscated 210 grams of gold including a chain worth Rs 10 Lakh, and 7 two-wheeled vehicles.
The police are still looking for gold ornaments and more than five two-wheeled vehicles used by the defendant.
The defendant was involved in 13 chains of grabbing cases, five tried the chain grabbed the case, three cases of bicycle theft, and two robbery cases were reported at the boundaries of the police station from Bajpe, North Mangaluru, Barke, Kavoor, Urva, East Mangalore, and Ullal.
On Tuesday, the City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that the team of nearly 60 police personnel, including ACP countries from the middle and North Sub-division of PA Hegde and Mahesh Kumar, have worked diligently in this case under the supervision of DCPS Hariram Shankar and BP Dinesh Kumar.
