Jalandhar: Because the government’s engine is overcoming the possibility of the third wave of Covid-19, Jalandhar District administration on Wednesday published shows notice to seven hospitals because they do not install PSA-based oxygen generators regardless of the same thing.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that hospitals including Shararjit, Kidney, Sikka, Oxford, Ghai, Neuronova, and Caremax Hospital had issued a notice due to their non-compliance with PSA-based Arsid.
He added that during the peak of both pandemic, this hospital was among those who demanded oxygen cylinders above 50 cylinders per day.
“They were asked to install the PSA factory in August 2021.
But there was no effort seen by this hospital to establish these factories to address their oxygen requirements considering the next wave,” he said.
DC said that several other hospitals had established plants in their place to be independent in terms of oxygen production.
He said that the recommendations would be made for the Ministry of Health to cancel their license as a Covid care facility if they would not comply with the guidelines issued by the Administration.
“Furthermore, this hospital will be held accountable if there is causality in the middle of the third wave, if there is, because of the lack of oxygen gas because these institutions are fully responsible for regulating the required oxygen stock,” he added.
Thori also clarified that hospitals that have oxygen plants will get priority in the reception of Covid-19 patients in their facilities.
