New Delhi: Seven opposition parties have written to President RAM Nath Kovind seeking his intervention to direct the government to discuss the issues of farmers and spyware reports in the ongoing monsun parliamentary session when they appreciate it from “two annoying developments”.
BSP, RLP, SED, National Conference, CPI and CPI (M), besides NCP, is a signatory letter.
The main opposition party congress is not among the signatories.
“We write to you to find an appointment to tell you about two disturbing developments including complete stonewalling the demands of the peasants to revoke three agricultural laws and the use of the Pegasus Spyware Israel,” the letter was read.
Sad Harsymrat Badal said it was “unfortunate” that farmers had died while protesting but the center was not ready to discuss their problems.
Use of Pegasus software “to record telephone numbers of politicians, journalists and activists besides the known criminals from the Government NDA have sent shock waves among civil society”, letters to President Kovind said.
