Shanghai: China’s latest Covid-19 outbreak developed rapidly, a health official said, when the authorities demanded high vigilance to the ports of entry into increased infections in the northeastern border city caused by viruses that came from abroad.
Some 377 cases transmitted domestically with the confirmed symptoms were reported from October 17-29, the National Health Commission (NHC) data showed.
China has handled a series of outbreaks this year because most contain national deployment at the beginning of 2020.
The numbers remain small compared to overseas clusters.
However, while the whole world works in a way of coexistence with Covid, China has maintained its zero tolerance, urging vigilance around the border and port areas to prevent infected travelers who are infected with the virus to the regional residents.
