Thiruvananthapuram: Police Vizhinjam on Sunday arrested a 32-year-old man on charges of sexual abuse of a woman.
The police identified the defendant as Shaju from Pullanimukku near Venganoor, under the boundary of the Vizhinjam police station.
The police said that the complainant in this case was the wife of an Indian who did not stay with her 13-year-old son in Amarivila near Venganoor.
They said that Shaiju was accompanied by another man, Ranju, a Sheeter history accused several criminal cases.
According to the police source, the incident was related to this case taking place on Saturday around 3pm.
The two men fell to the complainant residence.
While Ranju tried to beat the woman and raped him, Shaiju stood the guard.
When relatives of the complainers, methamphetamine, rushed to the saving of a woman when she heard her shout, Shaiju attacked her using a machete.
After the neighbor gathered at the commotion, the two defendants escaped from home.
The police said that the defendant Ranju had tried sexually abused the woman several times in the past too.
The complainant and his son had moved to the rented house where they lived now three months ago.
Since then, he faces harassment in the hands of Ranju.
He told her husband who worked abroad about the threat from the following Ranju which he was looking for help from local ward members.
Allegedly that when Ranju knew that the woman’s husband had talked about him to a member of the ward, he was very angry.
He insisted on taking revenge on the woman and therefore tried to harass him sexually with the help of his friend.
The police team is hunting for Ranju, who is in the run.
Shaiju’s arrest was recorded by Vizhinjam Station House Officer Inspector Prajeesh Sasi.
The police have registered a case that requests the relevant parts of a criminal violation, which causes pain using the arm and makes the simplicity of a woman.
Shaiju is produced in front of the court and is returned in the custody of the judiciary.
Sabu, relatives of women who suffered an injury to the neck and arms, were in hospital care.
