New Delhi: Sajan Prakash, the first Indian swimmer to achieve direct qualifications for the Olympics, has been recommended for Arjuna Award which is coveted by the Indian Swimming Federation (SFI).
SFI has also nomined the veteran coach of Kamlesh Nanavati for the Dhyan Chand award, for his contribution to his life with water sports.
While Tapan Panigrahi has been nominated for the Dhronacharya award (lifetime category) for its contribution to producing many national and international champions in swimming paragraphs and capable of capable capabilities.
This is the second year in a row Prakash, who will compete in both Olympics in Tokyo, has been recommended for Arjuna.
The 27-year-old player from Kerala Scripted History last week by breaking the standard time ‘a’ for the Tokyo match, recorded 1:56:38 seconds at the 200m butterfly event at Trophy Sette Colli in Rome, Italy.

Nanvati represents India in a water polo in many international competitions and then a swimming coach.
In a career Which includes four decades, he has produced a lot of national medalists and record holders.
He has also made a sign for himself in leading “Director of Competition” in the national and international meeting and remains in the Fina Technical Committee for Waterpolo.
“Kamlesh Nanavati has reason To be satisfied today, when Maana Patel which he was trained for a better part of his career was the first swimmer of Gujarat to represent India at the Tokyo Olympics.
“Blessed is the coach who has the privilege of watching his Protegee proceed to represent the country on the largest sports platform in the world,” said President SFI, R N Jayaprakash.
