Kanpur: Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow and Iit-Kanpur on Tuesday signed the MoU to advance innovation in health care that can be accessed through customary solutions.
Under the MOU, the Institute will establish a center of excellence in Telemedicine and Health Robots to maintain smart health care with comprehensive goals to strengthen the health care system.
Mou was signed by Prof.
R.
K.
Dhiman, Director, SGPGI and Prof.
Abhay Karandikar, Director, Iit-Kanpur.
Professor Karandikar said, “Through this initiative, two leading state institutions will join hands to enforce their vision of a strong and customary health care system, which focuses on promoting interdisciplinary innovation.
The MOU is a timely step towards the right direction to allow the exchange of ideas Cross engineering and medical ideas, because professionals from IIT-Kanpur will receive the opportunity to collaborate with special doctors in SGPGIMS, Lucknow.
“Through this MoU, Iit-Kanpur and SGPGIMS have agreed to make R & D settings to promote telemedicine assisted by Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and 5G, and diagnostics.
An integrated network of cellular health vans in rural areas and smart kiosks in urban areas will ensure the last military connectivity to ensure the availability of emergency health services.
Commenting on the vision of initiative, Prof.
Dhiman said, “We will jointly launch a course in various fields of digital health that is not available in engineering and medical education institutions in this country today.
Corona Pandemic has now made telemedicine technology tools that are very popular and useful for bridging gaps between providers Treatment and citizens so there is a need to develop the platform and traditional technology system on a large scale that can be widely available and widely available.
“” This will promote entrepreneurship and develop a rural health system that can be deployed far and wide to strengthen the health system.
The future holds The key to a hybrid health care system that becomes a bond between techniques and medical discipline needs to be strengthened.
In the context of the time handshake between the two main institutions in accordance with what will result in great benefits for the community, “he added.
The telemedicine system is about creating a network of expected beneficiaries and medical experts and integrating them together on the digital platform.
The cost-effective platform consisting of hardware sensors and IOT controller devices needs to be developed to collect patient health data.
The system must be integrated with the cloud server and cellular application.
In this case, the role of Iit -Kanpur will include the development of a health care system that is portable activated portably along with the testing and diagnostic point-of-care, designing mobile vans and customized kiosks equipped with AI-based diagnostics, integrating multi-language avatars With the system to give patients a feeling of a doctor’s presence or caregiver.
Avatar will be very important for patients with mental health disorders and elderly care.
SGPGIMS has established a biomedical telemedicine & informatics school in 2006 with the purpose of teaching and training of health personnel and clinical engineers and health care strategies activated by ICT.
It has received a large grant from the Ministry of Electronics & IT, the Indian government in 2007 to lift the school to the National Resources Center at the Biomedical Telemedicine & Informatics continued for five years.
Then, from 2007 to the present facility and trained technical force have been supported by the Ministry of Health & Welfare of the Family, the Indian government to develop and manage national university networks as the center of national resources.
With collaboration with IIT-Kanpur and the center of excellence, aspects of clinical application technology digital technology can be overcome.
Supported with two decades of experience in telemedicine research oriented application, development, and deployment, SGPGIMS collaboration with IIT-Kanpur will foster synergies to foster ecosystems at the intersection of technology and health care through capacity building.
