Shah takes Inventory of flood preparedness

NEW DELHI: Home Union Amit Shah on Tuesday examined the willingness to manage flooding in aftermath of this monsoon and involves greater synergy between the state and central agencies to make a permanent system for forecasting flood and tracking the increase in water levels at important catchment regions of the nation.
In a lawsuit, urged by him to assess the steps to be prescribed as part of an extensive plan to mitigate the continuing flood difficulty, Shah chose a ton of choices to have a brand new system of communicating among the IMD, jal shakti ministry, chief water fee and NDRF.
He advised that the Jal Shakti ministry to work out a mechanism for desilting of big dams, which will assist in raising dam storage capability and aid in flood management.
