Mumbai: Five gang, including Shakti Mills Gang Rape Defendant Akash Jadhav, was arrested on Tuesday in case of extortion and riots.
On July 22, a developer from the Wadala had complained to the Christmas police Hill that Jadhav aka Gotya and his four colleagues tried to extort him and threatened him at that time.
“Based on Tip-Off, the Crime Branch Unit 3 put the trap and capturing Gotya, Rakesh Shinde, Chintamani Sarang, Suyash Puriab and Vinod Singh aka Nepal and handed it to the Senior Crime Police,” said a senior crime branch officer.
Last year, Jadhav and an accomplice had stabbed a bandra resident over a small argument for taking drugs.
The source said Jadhav had done more than 10 violations starting from rape to try to kill and now pamper extortion.
Tardeo police have also registered a case of extortion and looks for Jadhav and his gang.
At the time the rape of Gang Mills Shakti was terrible in 2013, Jadhav was 17 and was arrested along with one more smaller and four adults.
In July 2014, the teenage justice council had sent Jadhav and the others at the Borstal Nashik School for three years.
