Shankar shifted to temporary elephant camps

Udhagamandalam: Shankar elephant, who was undergoing training in Kraal in Abhayaranyam at Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) in Nilgiris for the past four and a half months, was shifted to the elephant camp while nearby on Sunday.
Evil Tusker, which killed three people in the Gudalur area, was arrested from Cherambadi in the Gudalur Division on February 12.
The 35-year-old animal had killed the trio, including a man and his son, in 2020.
Kavadis Vikram and Saman from the tribal community were finished to train elephants in Kraal.
“In addition to training elephants, two cavadists used to sleep close to Kraal to tie with elephants,” said the Dairandhan forest range officer.
“Elephants have softened and obeyed their orders.
It did not show any aggressiveness when released from Kraal.” Including Shankar, there are 12 elephants in the elephant camp while Abhayaranyam.
Elephant has released a rampage in 2016 in Pagadaur Taluk.
The Ministry of Forestry cannot catch the elephant, which then moved to the Kerala forest.
It was seen in the Pandada forest area a year ago.
