Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole on Wednesday described the Head of the NCP Sharad Pawar as the “Remote Control” Shiv Government of Sena-LED Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the state.
Patole made a comment when talking to regional news channels.
NCP is the second largest constituent of MVA after Shiv Sena, who heads the coalition of the three-party decisions.
Congress is the third partner in MVA.
Asked why he was not invited to the residence of the pawar on Tuesday when a group of leaders of the State Congress met Patriarch NCP, Patole said, “The meeting was for the state government and coordination.
It was not a party-level meeting.
He (pawar) is indeed the MVA government remote control .
“Pawar is considered the head of the MVA architect who came to power in November 2019 under the supervision of the Minister of Justice and President Sena Uddhav Thackeray.
‘Remote Control’ is a term commonly used to underline a person’s influence on the government today without holding constitutional positions.
This term was first used in Maharashtra referring to the founder of Sena late Bal Thackeray during 1995-99 when Shiv Sena-BJP combined in power, to show its great influence on the state government.
Speaking with reporters the previous day, Patole, in a veiled attack on NCP in the context of the 2014 assembly selection, said his party was “cheated” seven years ago and now preparing for the 2024 general election that remembers it.
Patole apparently referred to the NCP step to oppose the 2014 assembly selection in Maharashtra separately.
“Congress has passed a cheat like that.
We want to ensure that in the next big elections, we will not face such a situation again,” said the former Assembly speaker.
Patole recently kicked a row when he tried to suggest that the MVA government oversees his movements and claimed Shiv Sena and NCP felt the ground slipped from under their feet because of its rapidly growing influence.
As a commentary “under the watch” caused flutter, patole on Monday claimed the wrong information spread through the media and was confirmed there was no dispute between the Allies MVA.
