Sharda University uploads data of 29,000 graduates on digilocker

NOIDA: Sharda University has become the first varsity in Gautam Budh Nagar to upload data of its graduates on the Union government’s portal, digilocker.gov.in.
Of its 55,000 graduates, the university has so far uploaded the data of 29,000.
The remaining data will be updated by June-end, said university officials.
“In 10 years, some 55,000 students graduated from the university and among them, 17,000 were international students,” said Ajit Kumar, spokesperson for Sharda University.
“Through this system, we will be able to stop forgery and fake documentation activities.
Employers will have an easy way to verify the details of students.
This way we have made the academic legacy of Sharda safe,” he added.
The Union government has introduced the digilocker system under its Digital India initiative with an aim to secure data of major institutions on cloud.
All academic institutions have been asked to put up their data under the National Academic Depository (NAD) system.
“Our team worked consistently for three months to achieve this.
By June, we will be fully compliant.
All university data is now going to be safely encrypted,” Kumar said.
This is especially useful for students who need to access their academic records and transcripts for pursuing higher education,” he added.
