Madurai: Madras High Court has said that it expects the state government to allocate at least 1% medical seats from the next academic year for wards serving defense personnel and thus recognize their selfless service to the nation.
The Division of Judge N Kirubakan (since retiring after signing orders) and Justice B Pugalendhi also directed the center to revisit a priority list for medical acceptance from armed force personnel.

There is no justification given by the government for this, the judges said.
GO 1979 was able to do justice for all parts of defense personnel.
Throwing the appeal by the state government, the judges enforced the command of a bench bench that provided assistance to the defense personnel ward who served, cancel the portion of GO who denied the benefits of a special reservation to present defense personnel.
