In a surprise announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday morning that his government would withdraw controversial agricultural laws that pushed the year’s protest from thousands of farmers.
The decision was the main climb by the BJP Modi-Lead government ahead of the main elections in countries such as Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
Congratulations on the decision was the actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha, who took to Twitter handling to praise the farmers to grit and determine them through protests throughout the year.
In a series of posts, he wrote, “Finally, common sense / wisdom has applied to our Hon’ble PM @narendramodi is better than not at all.

Modi made an announcement during a broadcast speech broadcast live.
He urged the demonstrators to return home and said the constitutional process to revoke the law would begin in December when the parliament sat for a winter session.
“While apologizing to the nation, I want to say with a sincere and pure heart that might have something lacking in our efforts that we cannot explain the truth to some of our farmer brothers,” Modi said at that time.
He then continued to say: “Let’s start.”

The law was passed in September last year and Modi refused to extend the debate despite repeated requests from the opposition.
For a year, the government defended the law, said that they needed reforms to modernize the Indian agricultural sector and increase production through private investment.
But farmers protested, said the law would destroy their income by ending the guaranteed prices and forcing them to sell their crops to the company at a cheaper price.

Dozens of farmers died of suicide, weather conditions and Covid-19 during a demonstration that has since attracted international support from the rights of campaigns and celebrities, including Greta Thunberg and Singer Rihanna’s climate activist.
The government was initially involved with farmers and offered to suspend laws for 18 months in an effort to end the most serious challenges to Modi.
But farmers continue to pressure to revoke full and call for strikes throughout the country.
Modi’s decision was seen as a political masterstroke ahead of the main poll, especially in North Punjab, where the Sikh community faced alienation growth due to law.
