Written by news2in

Shilpa Rao has recreated the wonders of the songs full of ‘Aashiqui’ and ‘Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi’ in Mixtape Rewind who will come with Yasser Desai.
In an exclusive interview with ethes, ACE singer openly about his experience creating classic songs, working with Ar Rahman, and the actress he wanted to lend his voice.
Quote …
You have recreated iconic songs from ‘Aashiqui’ and ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’.
How do you sing popular songs? These are two different iconic songs so there are certain attachments that people have for it.
Each artiste has their own sensibility.
It’s nice to review them.
I really hope people like what we have done and we really look forward to this room.
How is collaboration with Yasser Desai for the first time? I heard his voice when we were working on this project.
I have never met him but when we do it, it feels like we’ve known each other for a long time.
He is very cold, down-to-earth, and a very simple man.
I hope the best for him with his work and with his music career.
Are there other songs from the 90s that you want to reset someday? Well, I think ’90s, for me, is the appearance of Ar Rahman sir because that’s when he started music, and we all began to hear him while he was.
Change the entire music scene with the soundscape.
So, I want to recreate one of the songs.
Your song ‘Phuljhadiyon’ from ‘Mimi’ looks very pleasant.
How do you come for it? Ar Rahman sir and I have met for a photo shoot and talk about the ghazal I have posted.
I have appeared in front of him on the reality event and he likes it.
He said that it was carrying it to Egypt and he did not believe if it was Me or Amar expensive singing.
It was a big praise for me and the next day I got a call saying that we had to record a song together.
I went to the studio, recorded, and sent him some pleasure because this was a very bright song.
How does it work with Rahman sir? Working with Rahman Pak is the dream of every musician.
He loves musicians, singers, even instrument players, and allows people to work their own way and never put any limits.
He let you bring your own credibility and sensitivity and dream of every musician to work like that.
That’s why all the songs have a sense of freedom, and yes, that’s why it’s very fun to work with him.
As a singer, is it important to who you loan your voice? Is there an actress that you will like to sing for someday? It is important in the sense that you build relationships with that person.
In this case, I will say that with the Kriti Sanon, I never emit it.
This is my first song with him and with this song, this is an association.
When my work and his work were connected, it was destiny.
I saw the trailer and understood the plot from the film and it seemed a very difficult role and the film was important for him.
I hope the best and I’m sure this film will take it to the next level.
I want to sing for taboo; I really hope it happens.
What, do you think, make you stand apart from the crowd? I think it’s my childhood tendency and I think of it as my plus points.
I mean nothing good or bad but this is a situation that I always find myself.
I will not fit a lot of space, whether it’s my school or social circle, or every social occasion.
I was very fortunate that my family, my parents, my brother let me be myself and never let me stay in certain molds.
Many times, you have a pressure to be a certain way, and fortunately, I never felt it.
There is a wave of female oriented content, especially on OTT.
Do you think this change is very much needed in the music industry too? It’s true because if you talk about the story, it will never be complete without a men’s perspective and a women’s perspective.
We need both because we are a world in nature, unless we do not have a female perspective, whatever concept is incomplete – both film or art, or even law and order, you need both sides of perspective.
It’s nice that women argue and take their stage and there are more strong women around.
