PANAJI: NCP Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar on Wednesday decided to falsify the pre-poll alliance for the election of the next month’s assembly in Goa, said that Congress did not respond to their proposals for a shared contest.
Speaking to reporters, Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that the next government in Goa, currently ruled by BJP, will not be formed without the involvement of Sena and NCP.
Pressur Senior Leader Patel said the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Sena would point to 10-12 seats.
“NCP tries to talk to Congress in Goa for the pre-poll alliance.
We tell them that let’s work together so we can take the government,” Patel said at a press conference along with Raut.
Patel.
Raut also made a similar offer (for Congress) for a contest along with Congress as the main party.
“But our proposal is not responded to.
We felt that the Congress Party did not give us a respect that we received,” Former Minister of Union said.
He said Sena and NCP would compete on a large number of seats, at least 10-12 by each party.
Goa has a total of 40 seats.
Raut said that Congress might think that it could be in the form of its own government.
We hope they are all the best, he added.
“NCP and Shiv Sena have decided to oppose the election in Goa.
We will not compete in all 40 seats, but our nomination will win our seats,” he said, adding that the next government would not be formed without the involvement of Sena and NCP.
The NCP has won a single chair (Benaulim) in the 2017 assembly election.
Lone NCP MLA, Churchill Alemao, recently combined the cave legislative unit from NCP in the Trinamool Congress.
Sena Shiv was not represented in the Goa Assembly.
The selection battle for Goa has become a multi-corner with the entry of TMC banerjee-LED mamata and aggressive campaign by AAP.
So far, the tie-up of polls forged between Gomantak Maharashtrawadi Regional (MGP) and TMC, and between Congress and the Forward Goa Party (GFP).
In the 2017 election, the Congress has emerged as the single largest party in Goa by winning 17 seats at home 40 members, but cannot be powerful as BJP, which bagged 13, ally with several regional and regional parties forming the government under the MANOHAR PARRIRAR (now died ).
