Shivamogga: In the midst of increasing concerns over the chaos of the third wave of Covid-19 may be caused throughout the country, the old problem has maintained his head again in Shivamogga.
A 57-year-old woman in Kudige Thirthahalli Village has been treated at the Taluk Hospital with Kyasanur forest disease, the first case since 2019.
The patient had suffered a fever for several days, after the blood sample was collected and tested for KFD.
The Ministry of Health decided to get a sample tested for KFD since Kudige, located in the middle of a dense forest, located in the zone where the disease was rampant.
The woman was originally treated at Hospital Thirthahalli Taluk, before she shifted to Manipal at night on Friday.
Shivamogga District Health Officer Dr.
Rajesh S Uragihalli told TII, “The symptom of the woman is light.
There is no reason to worry.
Of the 50 samples tested for KFD, someone has been confirmed.
The woman in question has taken a vaccine against this disease.” In December 2019, Aralagodu in Sagar Taluk was influenced by KFD, which claimed 22 lives.
Overall, 26 people surrendered in two years in Shivamogga.
However, after the Covid-19 outbreak, the KFD graph tapered to zero.
Meanwhile, the team from the National Institute of Virology (NIV) visited Aralagodu Village to collect tick – insects that spread KFD.
Officials said a report had not been submitted to the government.
Since it was first reported in 1957 in Kyasana Village in Soraba Taluk, this virus has undergone several mutations.
Dho Dr.
Suragihalli said the Ministry of Health monitors TICS mutations.
“We have surveyed the villages previously affected, and from 300 TICs that we had collected and tested, three were found to have KFD.
We have asked villagers to be careful, and intimate us about monkey death,” he added.
