Lahore: The former Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik will make his sixth appearance at the World Cup Twenty20 at the end of this month after being withdrawn to the squad on Saturday to replace the injured Maqsood Batsman.
Maqsood was ruled out from the exhibition tournament after suffering a lower back injury in a domestic match earlier this year, the Pakistani Cricket Council said in a statement.
“Suhamib was destroyed to skip the World Cup because he worked hard for this event and in a sparkling form,” said Head of Selector Muhammad Wudiim.
“We feel it but injury is an integral part of sports.” “…
We have decided to enter Shoaib Malik on the side.
I am sure the Shoaib experience will be useful for the whole army.” Malik, 39, Pakistani captain at the initial incident in 2007 and was a team member who won the title in 2009.
The All-Rounder missed the 2010 World Cup in West Indies but appeared in the last three editions.
This was the fourth change in the native Pakistani troops, came the day after they infiltrated the former captain of Sarfaraz Ahmed, Haider Ali and Fakhar Age.
Pakistan will play a warm-up match against West Indies and South Africa before starting their campaign by clashing blockbuster with Indian Arch-Rivals on October 24 in Dubai.
