Shobha has a field day with rice

MySuru: Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje on Monday changed a farmer when he stepped into the Chandranna farmer field to sow rice seeds along with other female farmers in Honaganahalli Village at Mandya Taluk.
He also launched a machine used to sow rice seeds.
After sowing rice, Shobha sat with women and eating food prepared on the farm.
He listened to their problems related to agriculture, and shared information about government programs for women, MGNREGA and cellular applications launched for farmers.
Then, the minister visited the Jagger production unit in Sathanuaru Village owned by Farmer Puttegowda and tasted fresh jaggery produced in the unit.
The owner of the Jaggery Unit Maddur Taluk filed a memorandum demanding a bank loan for the initial unit, and to consider the production unit as the cottage industry.
They also urge action against farmers who produce inferior quality jaggery.
Shobha assured them that the problem would be discussed at the meeting on August 27.
The minister said farmers would double revenue if they produce organic jaggery that are free of chemicals.
Speaking after inaugurating Yatre Janashirvada held by Mandya District BJP at AC Madegowda Samudhaya Bhavan, Shobha said that there was a great demand for jaggery abroad.
“When people have started to avoid sugar, the demand for jaggery increases again.
So the exports of jaggery and produce quality jaggery,” his advice.
He urged farmers not to commit suicide and instead took apiculture, horticulture and agro-forestry to improve their financial conditions.
At Yatre Janashirvada, several BJP workers protested the leader of BJP Chandagalu Shivanna who was not invited to this program.
They shouted slogans against leaders on the stage which created a disturbance during the program.
After the KC Narayanagowda District Minister apologized for the mistake, the protesters were calm.
Millets International Milletshobha Karandlaje said that the central government has decided to celebrate 2023 as an international year milleters to encourage farmers to grow healthy food and also to promote organic farming.
He said that millet (siridhayna) was increasingly important in recent years which resulted in major demand in foreign countries and countries.
“The income of farmers has doubled after growing a jutet.
By growing free chemical plants, farmers can take good and independent income,” he said.
