Shaji n Karun, head of the jury, said that ‘Koozhangal’ has all the elements needed for films to compete in Oscar.
Sircar Shoejit did not see the controversy behind the critically recognized film was not chosen.
He said, “No, I don’t think it’s controversy.
I really obey the jury’s decision and shaji”.
He further added, “They are all responsible, creative members and it is a big task to choose the right film for Oscar, so, I think they have chosen the right film.
I have very strong expectations for ‘koozhangal'”.

Karun last month, chairman of the selection committee of 15 members, announced the ‘Koozhangal’ decision as an official Indian entry to the Oscar ceremony for 2022, while the Indian Film Federation (FFI) Secretary General Suparn Sen confirmed that the decision was unanimous.
