Gurgaon: Operation at a water treatment plant in Chandu Budhera stopped for about eight hours on Wednesday night after a short circuit.
The power supply was restored on Thursday morning and there was no disruption of water supply reported in the city, officials said.
The incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m.
and a short circuit was reported in the plant measurement panel.
The power was restored around 8:30 a.m.
on Thursday.
According to an official at Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), water supply throughout the city was not affected.
Pradeep Kumar, Head of Engineer, GMDA said: “The disorder was caused by a short circuit in the metering panel.
The electricity department has restored supply through direct connection.
Water supply remains smooth throughout the city and we do not get reports of shortcomings.” Factory capacity is 300 MLD (millions of millions Liter per day), where 250-255 MB will be supplied water throughout the city.
The factory most serves new sectors (sector 58 to sector 115).
Apart from that, the water from the factory was also supplied to sector 9, 9A, 4 and 5, the village of Basai, Ashok Vihar, a new colony, South City-2 and Sector 45, 46 and 56.
