Ahmedabad: When a large number of candidates who have cleared the teacher’s aptitude test (TAT) are waiting to get teaching jobs, there are nearly 14,000 positions for class 1-8 teachers lying empty in schools managed by the government throughout the country.
This has been expressed by the state government in response to the Right Rights Application (RTI) submitted by Vala Hardevbhai Himjibhai from Trapaj Village in Talaja Taluka from Bhavnagar District.
Of these, 3,324 vacancies are for mathematics teachers and 3,087 for social studies teachers from class 1 to class 8.
For grade 1 to grade 5 there are 5,687 jobs and in the case of class 6 to grade 8, there are 8,237 empty positions until August 31, According to the government’s response to Plea RTI.

Examination is a mandatory requirement for all who want to propose the position of teaching and work principals in schools and school grant assistance.
A large number of schools are in rural areas and the lack of teachers will eventually lead to their closure, said Doshi.
