Short Riji: Fill in Judge’s vacancy, Curb Success

New Delhi: Kiren Rijiju, the newly appointed law minister, took over service on Thursday amid serious concerns about increasing fat cases in court, which had crossed 4.5 crores on July 7, and large vacancies crossed Judicial three levels of the system.
Among the main challenges before Rijju, say officials, is to fill large vacancies at the Supreme Court, 25 High Courts and 24,000 subordinate trials.
While the Supreme Court has 21% of judges – seven of the 34 posts that are approved are currently lying empty – 25 high courts in this country have 41% of vacancies with a record of 449 posts to be filled.
This situation is far worse in the subordinate and district court where more than 5,000 judicial officer posts remain empty for several years now.
About 3.9 crores, the highest number of cases, is waiting in the subordinate and district court and has become a major concern for the government who seeks to increase India’s rank in the ‘ease of business of business’ businesses’.
Officials of the Senior Law Ministry met with the minister for a moment after he took over the ministry.
However, detailed department meetings have been scheduled to start Friday.
Given the recent adverse orders of the Apex court about the promise of the judicial, where the government has been served with a deadline to remove all appointments delayed meetings, newly appointed ministers must concentrate on the tasks faced and also win the trust of a higher court ,
